Curriculum Vitae

Peter Schreiner, born in Bad Bergzabern, Germany in 1955, is currently a senior researcher at the Comenius-Institut in Muenster, Germany, Protestant Centre for Research and Development in Education. He is president of the Intereuropean Commission on Church and School (ICCS), a nongovernmental organisation with participatory status at the Council of Europe and associated member organisation of the Conference of European Churches. He is also moderator of the Coordinating Group for Religious Education in Europe (CoGREE), a network of six organisations active in the field of religion and education in Europe.

Main working areas include Comparative Religious Education in Europe, intercultural and interreligious learning, alternative approaches in education philosophy, ecumenical learning, stewardship of Protestant churches in education; current research project on "Religion in the Context of a Europeanization of Education" (2006-2010).
